The new moon got the fish moving and last nights reports were very encouraging. Cooler temps are forecast and this should be the start to a already overdue fall bass run. I am planning on doing night trips using eels. 4 guys 4-5 hours. Call me for pricing. With the bottom fishing so good, anyone wanting to do a combination trip, Bass, Blacks Seabass. We can do that also! Let me know what ever you guys would like to do…This should be a great fall season, just need mother nature to let us fish….
Having the bass few and far between, the guys decided to give the bottom a try. Seabass reopens and this is the perfect day to drop down some clams and crabs. The fish were hungry!! Best Blackfish bite of the year for me, and the Porgies were dinner plate size and plentyful. Zempe put a hurting on the whitechins as did Ricky. Paul did very good with the Porgies and Joe Death, after he got rid of his breakfast and the dinner from the night before, also helped load the Fish Hotel!!! Action was non stop. The amount of Seabass was ok, less then I had expected, but the hot action certainley made up for that. We spent a long time at the fish cleaning table and the men all went home with bags of the other sweet white meat……..
With bass fishing very slow, and finally a weather window to get offshore, we decided to give the BFT a try. Water temps were right where we needed it to be, water color was perfect. The Bluefins thought differently. We did not raise a fish other then mahi. So we wait until they arrive, sooner or later they will appear….Got to believe!
