Lake Ontario – Top Gun/Son of a Gun—- K n G Lodge Oswego,NY

It seemed like yesterday when we made these plans to fish fish Capt Greg and his son Capt Chad back in February!  They run 2 very nice boats out of Oswego, NY. First afternoon wee all jumped on with Capt Chad on his boat, Son of a Gun. Action was great once he found the fish. Rainbow, Coho and Kings all made the fish box. Beautiful fish, first time for my son to fish this Great Lake. Laughs, some chop breaking, just a great time together in their back yard. That was Monday afternoon. Tuesday morning we were with Capt Greg on his boat, Top Gun. We were both still very excited about the fishing we experienced yesterday afternoon. Mother nature delayed the start of the trip. Something we are quite used too. When we finally got out it was game on with Coho and King salmon, all very nice size fish. Despite the rain, and the wind  Capt Greg had us zeroed in on the fish. We put more then we had expected in the Salmon Hotel. I did do my part in releasing my share of fish, some farther away from the boat then I would have liked! Just a perfect way to close out our summer season. Capt Greg is a professional in every meaning of that word! Not to mention a gentleman also!! His boat is as comfortable as one can expect. His mate, Mike does not stop at all during the trip and adds to the experience. I cannot say enough about this trip! Anyone interested in fishing Lake Ontario should check these men out first, before booking with anyone else on this lake. Capt Greg runs K n G Lodge where there are cabins available just a short ride from the marina. Check out his website —

Fluke bite right till the end!!!!!

Fluke bit well right till the end which was Saturday Sept 2! Despite some very windy days, fluking was good with very solid fish. One day on the snot, the next day in the deep, then back onto the snot. Hard to stay on them but my guys did a great job in catching these fish. Throw in a huge bass on the last day and it was a nice way to end this season.
