May 31,2012 George Quentz Bass n Poppers
The first popping trip of the year, and it could not come at a better time of the year. Conditions are telling me that we should see a repeat of last nights fishing. George had his father George and Paul had his son Paul along for this trip. (I can’t forget names2 night) The high sun and blue skies made for s super afternoon. The blues were on the bunker schools and the guys had fun with them for a little until I decided to make the run. I really think they would have been liked to stay with those yellow eye fighters but I am a Striper boat this time of year. ON the ride south, we seen plenty of bunker schools getting chased, but I needed to be in the “SPOT”. I could see the fleet that was gathered where I want to fish when I spotted a large area of white water due east of us. At first I thought it was Dolphins, but then I seen the tell tale signs of the bass as the 600 horsed got us there in no time. There, we had several acres of large bass crashing on bunker and the guys got bit and came tight immediately. George and George in the front, and Paul and Paul in the back. We boxed up in no time and played catch and release the rest of the evening. The bass were always on the surface some where. Whales were in the mix as well and we all were treated to a very special evening of bass fishing. Father and son fishing trip, it does not get better then this…….. Chaz– you should have been there!!
